I actually gave up writing in 2000.  I planned to get married, get a mortgage, have children and settle down. That didn't work. Then the Channel 4’s The Play’s The Thing, came along. It was a four-part series documenting West End producer Sonia Friedman’s quest to find a new British playwright ‘to enliven and envigorate the West End stage’ It got me writing again. From over 2,000 submissions I made it through to the final ten.

I’m more of a playwright than a prose writer probably because I love seeing the audience’s reaction. When they laugh, I smile. Although I do have difficulty getting to the desk, tending to be seduced by things more practical. I’ll clean the bath instead.
