The Middle Yard is an atmospheric evening of storytelling and music for adults, drawing deeply on the riches of Irish mythology. The story is expertly told by Nick Hennessey and Simon Heywood, woven between original songs accompanied on harp and guitar. Conflict is brewing between warring factions. A young man, Lugh Lamfhota, prophesied to be a great leader is drawn into a bitter vendetta. Can he act on his beliefs and still do what is right for his people? The story sweeps across land and sea, from tense confrontations in the court of the Irish king, to a magical quest which travels to the four corners of this world and the edges of the next. Filled with drama, passion, twists and tragedy, the story leads to final confrontation on the Hill of Miochaoin.
This gripping tale of family loyalty, action and consequence is an evening of contemporary storytelling at its best.
