Katherine Woodfine

I can't ever remember having not written. When I was four years old, guinea pigs featured quite a lot in my work. From being a teenager on I wrote diaries. I'm unsettled if I don't write. It's how I work through ideas. Being so used to having that imaginary space, it's not pleasant when it goes.

  • 2008     Winner of Best New Blog Award, Manchester Blog Awards. Nominated for Best Personal Blog
  • 2005    Highly Commended finalist in Vogue magazine’s Talent Contest for promising young writers

The blog was an accidental thing. I read other blogs and really enjoyed them, it's a fun platform with an instant readership. I messed abot with it at first, used it as an ideas space. The people started commenting and it suddenly went from me in my pyjamas to having a real audience and being nomiated for the Manchester Blog Awards. I love being part of a bigger conversation, sharing ideas and not being the solitary writer.
