In 2003 Litfest worked with Sandylands and Skerton Community Primary Schools in Morecambe to create two six-metre ‘poem paths’ to celebrate the ‘Flock of Words’ three-hundred metre path in Morecambe. The text was devised through a series of workshop activities and word games. The focus of both projects is on birds, and they include poems, and song lyrics as well as traditional sayings and quotations.

Flock of Words is part of The Tern Project and runs from the railway and bus stations in Morecambe to the seafront. Visit The Tern Project website to find out more.
Litfest went on to commission designer Paul Greenwood to develop the work of six of the young writers from the two schools for exhibiting as part of the Folly Contact Scheme – an initiative to put artwork into the community, and which included venues in Morecambe and Lancaster, such as:
