Writer Opportunities

Writers need business skills and opportunities to make their career a success. To this end, Litfest runs a professional development programme to help writers develop their careers.

The programme operates on a variety of levels:

  • a bespoke development programme, specifically for writers published by Flax. It may involve professional development planning, skills exchange between writers, marketing strategies, coaching and one to one mentoring schemes. What the writers want and need will determine what we will attempt to provide.
  • coaching, focusing on the practical the aim of supporting writers to get where they want to go in their career.
  • All our previous seminars, focusing on the business of being a writer, which cover topics from micro-business, administration, earning multiple incomes and legal troubleshooting are available as information sheets, free to download. See the list below for what you may be interested in.
