what happens with Elizabeth Burns

A writing workshop using the Storey Gallery's spring group exhibition What Happens If ... ? (previously entitled Experimental Objects) as stimulus. In the sessions you will explore what the artworks mean to you and where they lead you on your writing journey.

The Storey Gallery/ Poetry Bookcase

The Storey, Meeting House Lane, Lancaster LA1 1TH

Thursdays 25 Feb, 5, 11, 18 and 25 March, 7-9pm

18 March will be an untutored research week, in which Suzy Jones, programme manager of Storey Gallery, will give an informal tour of the works to deepen your knowledge of the artists and the thinking behind the exhibition.

As a group exhibition What Happens If ... ? will cover areas as diverse as science and technology, the arts, commerce, politics, popular culture, everyday life, and the material world. The programme will bring together practitioners from sociology, anthropology, history and philosophy of science, culture and the arts, and natural sciences. It will use the notion of the experiment to explore questions about the relationship between knowledge and power, freedom and control in the modern world.

burns1_web Elizabeth Burns is an experienced workshop leader who has worked in adult education, community settings and as a one-to-one mentor.

We hope this workshop will open up new pathways in your writing and thinking.

Cost: £40 or £30 concessions for the entire course.
