Writing from the Ground Up

BowlandFestival

A walking writing workshop in Lowgill, as part of the Bowland Arts Festival.
Led by Jane Routh
Saturday 8 May, 10-1pm

Alternating walking and observing with writing time in which to explore how we can deepen our immediate responses using association, personal experience and social history, memory and imagination.

We'll cover, approximately, 2 to 2.25 miles.
On a circular route on footpaths (with stiles and footbridges) across a varied landscape of streams, woodlands and farmland, returning through Lowgill village and along a section of Roman road.

The wet weather alternative: We'll stay indoors at The Old School and use the old buildings as a starting point for our writing. We'll also be able to read and talk about some examples of personal writing.

Meeting point: The Old School, Lowgill, Bentham (OS ref: SD654 654).
